What are Tags and How Do They Work?
Unlike folders, which keep your chats grouped into distinct buckets, tags act as flexible labels. You can assign multiple tags to a single chat, making it easy to categorize conversations that span multiple topics.
For example, you could tag a chat with both “Work” and “Coding”, or “Personal” and “Brainstorming”.
Here is what makes Tags a must-have productivity booster:
- Color-Coding: Select any color you like for your tags. Want red for “Urgent”, blue for “Reference”, and green for “Completed”? You have total control over the palette.
- Cross-Platform Support: Create tags once and use them across all five major AI engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Grok).
- Instant Filtering: You can search and filter by your tag names directly in the sidebar search bar. Typing a tag name immediately filters the list to show only the matching chats.
How to Get Started with Tags
Using tags is incredibly straightforward:
- Open the Tag Manager: Click the tags icon next to any of your pinned chats, or click the Manage Tags button at the bottom of the sidebar dropdown menu.
- Create Your Tags: Choose a custom color using the color picker, type a label name, and click Add.
- Assign to Chats: Hover over any chat in your pinned list, click the tags icon, and check the box next to the tags you want to assign.
- Filter Your Sidebar: Type a tag name into the search bar at the top of the sidebar. Only chats labeled with that tag will be visible, letting you jump straight into the context you need.
